a magazine is an ipad that doesn't work

my cousin, rachel, showed me this video over the weekend. i find it both adorable and terrifying. it's always cute when little ones are learning how different things work in the world. on the other hand, i pray that my future children know what a book is before they ever lay hands on an ipad. in fact, it is pretty clear from what i have learned studying child and adolescent mental health and development, that children should have extremely limited exposed to electronic media, such as tv or an ipad, until they are at least two years old. either way, this video still got some smiles out of me(:

early bird

doesn't this song make you want to wake up early on a saturday? she sure inspired me! i am sad to say, though, that i am not quite as chipper as little shirley temple this morning, nor can i tap dance anywhere near as well as she can. i can't remember the last time i was up this early on a saturday, but tomorrow is easter! that means today will be filled with errands and baking and egg dying. today will also be my first time to cook a ham (here goes nothing!).
